What’s in Your Cup?

You are holding a cup of coffee, warm and comforting in your hands. You’re lost in thought, savoring the moment, when suddenly — someone bumps into you. The cup tilts, and the coffee spills over.

I ask you, why did you spill the coffee?

You might say, “Well, Alexandra, I spilled the coffee because someone bumped into me.”

But the truth is: you spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup.

If there had been tea, you would have spilled tea.

The lessonLife will always bump into us. What spills out is whatever we’ve been carrying inside.

If your cup is full of worry, anger, or stress, that’s what will pour out.

But if you fill your cup with presence, compassion, gratitude, and steadiness, then even when life shakes you, you’ll spill grace.

This month, take a moment to ask yourself:

What am I choosing to fill my cup with?

Breath Awareness: A Quick Reset

Whenever life bumps into you, come back to your breath.

Take a slow inhale through your nose… pause… and exhale gently through your mouth.

Feel your shoulders soften. Feel your mind settle.

One conscious breath is often enough to reset your energy and choose a different response.

Tapping Sequence: Choosing What Fills Your Cup

Karate Chop Point:

“Even though I sometimes react with stress or frustration when life bumps me, I choose to respond with calm and clarity.”

Eyebrow:

“I notice what spills out of me in difficult moments.”

Side of Eye:

“I understand that what’s inside my cup becomes my reaction.”

Under Eye:

“I choose to fill my cup with patience, steadiness, and love.”

Under Nose:

“I release old patterns of reacting without awareness.”

Chin:

“I am learning to respond from a grounded, conscious place.”

Collarbone:

“With every breath, I fill my cup with something better.”

Top of Head:

“I choose peace, gratitude, and a calm heart.”

Take one more deep breath.
Let your body soften, your mind quiet, and your cup refill with what you truly wish to embody.

Happy November
